“
“I have been dancing with Luanne for the last 5 years. Her studio is an inclusive and supportive place, that welcomes dancers of all levels. All the teachers are excellent and will provide options to adapt or extend the various combinations depending on your level. There are several different classes throughout the week, which are pitched at different levels - including a beginning pointe work class! This is an amazing studio, which puts the wellbeing and safety of their students as a top priority. I could not recommend Luanne and her studio more, give her classes a go - you will not be disappointed!”

“The Melbourne Studio of Ballet is as an amazing place to learn ballet as an adult. I have been dancing here for five years and couldn’t imagine dancing anywhere else. The studio offers classes for all levels and the teachers are supportive and encouraging in making sure students learn the proper technique and artistry of ballet.”

“Luanne has been my Adult Ballet teacher for over 5 years. Luanne's teaching is beautifully accessible - she combines the joy and expressiveness of professional dance with correct technique and placement, visualisation, supreme intelligence and individual instruction tailored to our levels. Give it a go, you won't look back!”

“Melbourne Northsiders, here's a little practical inspiration for you! My longtime teacher, Luanne, has her own ballet school. I can attest to her attention to detail and insistence on correct technique and placement - I've improved so much over time, and so have all of my other classmates.”

Frequently asked questions
Want to know more about our adult ballet classes? Here are some answers to questions we get asked regularly.
What do I need to wear for the first trial class?
You can wear any existing dancewear in your wardrobe. If you don't have any, clothing that's easy to move in is perfect. If this is your first time, please wear socks on your feet if you don't have any ballet shoes.
What are the uniform requirements for enrolled students?
Adults are free to choose their own dance attire - whether it be traditional dance attire or activewear. You can purchase appropriate dancewear at either Energetiks or Bloch dancewear stores.
How do I enrol in your classes?
First, you will need to register yourself in our student portal. The next step depends on whether you are taking one-off classes or enrolling in the whole term. If you are taking one-off classes, simply book in from the 'Trial Class' tab in your portal. You will need to pay for each class in advance. If you want to enrol in a term, you can also do this via your portal. We will send you an invoice for your classes.
How do I pay for classes?
This depends whether you are enrolling in a whole term of classes, or whether you are taking one-off classes. One-off classes can be purchased individually through your portal using the 'Trial Class' tab. You must do this in advance. If you are enrolling in a whole term of classes, we will send you an invoice for your selected classes at the beginning of each term (or whenever you enroll). This invoice is payable before you take your first class.
Can I enrol part-way through a term?
Absolutely! We welcome students at any time and will pro-rata your term-pass fee from the date you join.
Do I need any prior dance experience
No. However, you can choose (or be advised) on the appropriate class for your level of experience.
How many classes per week should I attend?
Keep in mind that repetition advances your improvement! If you enthusiastic and able, the more classes you take, the better you'll get. But one class a week is also absolutely fine!
Do adult dancers take part in the mid-year and end-of-year performances?
It's not essential. But if you would like to, just let us know.
