Director / Principal Ballet Lecturer
Founder and director of Melbourne Studio of Ballet, Luanne Hyson has been teaching ballet with knowledge and enthusiasm for more than 10 years at schools around Melbourne. Luanne received scholorships to several prestigious professional schools including The School of American Ballet in New York and went on to dance for many years in Europe and her hometown of Melbourne. Luanne holds a Postgraduate degree in Classical Ballet Teaching from the Victorian College of Arts / University of Melbourne and completed Teaching Training from the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet. Luanne is also the founder, artistic director, practising choreographer and dancer of independent professional company Dancebourne Arts.
Ballet Lecturer & Examiner
Former member of many ballet companies in Europe, for the past 9 years Chiara Ferri has been teaching classical ballet to students of all ages in New Zealand and Australia. Her experience includes Ballet Mistress for the Royal New Zealand Ballet and most recently as Ballet Lecturer at The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet, teaching the Classical Ballet Training and Assessment Program, Full Time and Part Time courses based on Vaganova Method. Chiara is the assistant director and a leading dancer of Dancebourne Arts.
Junior Ballet Lecturer
Madisson graduated from The Victorian College of the Arts in 2014 with a Certificate II in Dance and Distinction in RAD Advanced II before furthering her studies at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. There she completed an Advanced Diploma in Dance (Elite Performance) and during her studies began guest teaching in numerous schools across Victoria and Western Australia. Through Melbourne Studio of Ballet and Kinderballet™ she is now able to share her love and passion for dance with students of 18 months of age through to fifteen years. Madisson is also a company dancer with affiliated professional dance company Dancebourne Arts.
Junior Ballet Lecturer
Ami was born in Tokyo and commenced her classical ballet training at 9 years of age. Recognising her talent and dedication, Ami was awarded a scholorship to train at the Austrian Ballet School in Tokyo, Japan. Ami gained her first experience dancing professionally and extensively with Ballet Piccolo in Tokyo Japan. Ami then travelled to Canada to perform with Ballet Victoria and was later invited to join Ballet Jorgen as a junior soloist company member. Ami is delighted to have recently joined both the affiliated professional dance company Dancebourne Arts as a dancer and the Melbourne Studio of Ballet as a junior ballet lecturer. Ami looks forward to performing and teaching in 2020.
Senior Ballet & Contemporary Dance Lecturer
Geraldine began her dance training at the age of six studying at the Victorian College of the Arts, Australian Ballet School and the West Australian Academy of Perfoming Arts completing a Bachelor in Performing Arts. Geraldine has danced and choreographed extensively with the West Australian Ballet Company, One Extra Dance Theatre Company in Sydney and later with the Dance Company of Cologne, Germany. Geraldine's teaching and choreography skills were recognised when she was appointed as a lecturer in modern dance and choreography at Cologne’s school of Dance and Music. Upon her return to Australia in Geraldine enjoys choreographing, teaching and coaching aspiring young dancers.
Ezlimar started her ballet studies in her hometown Caracas,Venezuela. She was a recipient of the UNESCO Ashberg Scholarship to study at the Ecole Superieure de Danse Rosella Hightower in Cannes, France and also received a scholarship to study at The Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, DC. She was also a competitor at both Varna and Jackson International Ballet Competition.
She worked as a soloist and principal dancer in several ballet companies in the United States and Latin Merica such as Ballet Teresa Carreño, Ballet Contemporaneo de Caracas, The Colombian Classical Company, Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico, Tulsa Ballet, Charleston Ballet Theatre, State Street Ballet and the Oklahoma City Ballet.
Ezlimar has taught at the Summer Sessions at San Pedro City Ballet, Northern Cincinnati Youth Ballet, Los Olivos Dance Gallery and Charleston Dance Institute. She has also taught at the Ballet Academy Ventura, Nunbetter Dance Theatre in New Jersey, Dancephase in Edmond OK, and was also the guest ballet teacher at the Oklahoma Dance Masters Association Fall Convention, at the Quartz Mountain Resort. Ezlimar also acted as the Assistant Artistic Director at the Northern Cincinnati Youth Ballet.
Ezlimar is an ABT Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT Teacher Training in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT National Training Curriculum.
Ariane Quellier Donatella
Senior Ballet & Character Lecturer
Ariane was born in Paris, and trained as a dancer and ballet teacher. She began her studies at 8 years old at l'Opéra de Paris.
For the past 25 years, Ariane has been teaching classical ballet and folklore character dance for beginner to advanced students in France and Italy. Ariane has choreographed for her own dance company “Baccara”, travelling and peforming extensively throughout Europe, Canada and South Korea as a classical ballet dancer.
Ariane moved to Melbourne several years ago, lives with her Australian husband and enjoys teaching and bringing her wealth of knowledge and experience to the local students here in Melbourne.
Sara Di Segna
Contemporary Dance Lecturer
Sara is a contemporary dancer and performance maker focused on creating new works in collaboration with artists and creators from multiple disciplines. Originally from Italy, she began her studies at the National Dance Academy in Rome and received a scholarship from the Duncan 3.0 Formative Centre, where she completed the biennium of Professional Improvement in Contemporary Dance and Performative Arts.
Sara's early career focused on Contemporary dance and improvisation technique. Having worked extensively in Europe she moved to Melbourne in 2014, where she became a founding member and dance curator for the Independent Theatre Company InHelvetica. Between 2017 and 2018 Sara produced her first original works, which were sucessfully presented at Theater and Dance Festivals.
Sara has worked independently as a dance performer in Melbourne and regional projects with many influential choreographers.
As a dance teacher, Sara's style combines a love of imagination and playfulness with a deep appreciation of assisting others to find their artistic expression.
Recognising her attributes and experience, it is with pleasure that Sara has been engaged as a contemporary teacher with Melbourne Studio of Ballet school and dancer for Dancebourne Arts’ upcoming programmes scheduled in 2020.
